Overview
Canterbury Shaker Village in Canterbury is one of the most intact surviving Shaker communities, a National Historic Landmark (1993) with 25 original Shaker buildings, four reconstructed ones, and 694 acres of forests, fields, and gardens. A nonprofit set up in 1969 runs it as a museum with guided tours, exhibits, and programs on Shaker life and ideals. The restaurant serves traditional Shaker lunches and dinners in spring, summer, and fall.
